HERENGRACHT INDUSTRY PRICE 2021

It's that time again! Last week we participated in the award ceremony of the Herengracht Industrie Prijs 2021. It was an interesting and festive evening in which the jury finally chose the LocHal project as the winner after 145 submitted projects. The Spoorzone of Tilburg was the workshop of the Dutch Railways for 150 years and the main employer of the city. After a major transformation, completed in 2019, the former locomotive hall now functions as a library with creative workplaces and various meeting places. The team of Civic Architects, renovation specialists Braaksma & Roos and Inside Outside has created an integrated spatial concept that connects inside and outside, the interior and the urban landscape; at a later stage, separate interior elements designed by Mecanoo were integrated into it.
